05/10/2017 - UPDATE -
Hi. Jose here. I am in a foster home and I am having a GREAT time. My foster Mom says I don't act like a 10 year old. I am always on the GO like a puppy. I am doing great with my foster mom's other dogs. You have probably seen that red ball in my pictures. I love that ball. It is the only thing that I like from my old life which was pretty bad. My foster Mom had to take it out of my mouth to feed me for the first few day I was here, but I know what to do now. My foster Mom has given me even more balls to play with and a bunch of other toys. I even found toys laying around that she has not seen in years - not bad for a dog with limited vision! My foster Mom says I am a very good boy. Have to run! Bye.

MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION:
My name is Jose. I have a sad story. I was returned to a shelter two different times because I was abused. I am now with CSAC, and I know I will find a new, loving home. I am visually impaired but that does not slow me down. I adapt well to new spaces. I move confidently, and I can find my ball when someone throws it. I love my ball. I have had it a long time and I don't want anyone to throw it away. Right now I am at one of the great vets that work with CSAC. They say I am underweight, I have ear and skin infections, and I have a little of an upper respiritory infection. As soon as I feel better, I will be ready for my new home where I am well fed, loved and kept safe. Can that be you? Later, Jose.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. If you can help, please donate.
