11/20/2018 - UPDATE -
Good morning, wishing all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have my bib and am ready for turkey. While I am devoted to my foster mom, I wish I were having Thanksgiving dinner at my forever home. I was turned into a shelter because I had a squabble with my brother over food. I just don't understand why I had to go but can only assume that since I am so loving, they felt I had a better chance of finding new digs. My foster mom says to tell you that I love to snuggle and get petted. I sleep with her on the bed to keep her back warm. I am a very good eater, and I only had one accident. My mom was gone a long time, and I just couldn't help it. But no more issues with that. I can be a goofy guy sometimes. I am not a good walker on a leash. I can't seem to remember who is taking whom for a walk. I keep getting it mixed up but we are working on it. You know I said I am so devoted to my mom, well, this does cause a problem when she goes out, even if others are in the house. I get anxious and cry because I am afraid Mom is not coming back. I also get anxious in the car and can tend to bark when I hear someone come to our door. I guess I think I am the guard. We are working on all these things with lots of people who can help with some of my behaviors. My new family should be able to take me for lots of walks and play with me. So, as you can see, I need my family to have patience with my habits that need some work. Mom says I more than make up for them with my good habits and loving personality. After all, we are not all perfect! I like everyone in my foster family and snuggle with my foster brother. I make him laugh when I chase ice cubes he throws on the floor! I must look funny to him. Oh, I forgot to say that I get eye drops every day because my tear gland was removed. I am perfectly behaved when I get them, so no problem. Well, I guess I better go check if there is anything interesting going on at the porch. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Thanks so much for reading my letter. You really need to meet me, though. I am worth it and will love you forever. Please tell CSAC you want to meet me. Hugs and kisses - Luigi

Hi Everyone! My name is Luigi, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. My right eye has cherry and and no longer produces tears. I do need life long drops in that eye. I need my teeth cleaned and I do have ear infections. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. If you can help, please donate.
