MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION:
Hi Everyone! My name is Penelope, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was struck by a car and my back, left tibia and fibula was fractured. My owner could not afford to repair my leg so I was surrendered to the shelter. The shelter provided the surgery needed to save my leg so I have a chance to walk again. I am not out of the woods yet. A pin was put in my leg to set the fracture so it heals. I have a road to recovery. I need to stay resting for the next 3 months then I need to have the pin taken out once everything is healed. After that, I need to remain at low activity for another 8 weeks. The volunteer who tranported me says I am very calm but a little scared. I was easy to handle. She thinks I have a gorgeous face. I know it is a lot to ask for someone to become my guardian angel and adopt me with such a big problem, but I would love to be in a loving home with a new family who will take care of me and make sure I heal. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. If you can help, please donate.
