11/21/2019 - UPDATE -
Hello to everyone! My name is Rover, and I am writing to tell you about my exciting life with my foster parents. Believe it or not, I have a job at the university where Mom works. My job is to walk around campus with my mom, take some naps, and the best part is getting belly rubs. I also like to give the students kisses. My collegiate job has not changed my down-to-earth nature. I love all the people and animals who I meet. My mom says I am so sweet and that I turn people to mush when they meet me. I guess that's a good thing! I am a very well-mannered boy and am housebroken. When I get treats, I am so gentle that Mom says the treats almost fall out of my mouth. Mom says there isn't a mean bone in my body. I live with two foster cats who don't bother me at all. I don't even care if they try to cuddle with me when we are sleeping in Mom's bed. I LOVE to cuddle with Mom. I do have vision problems, but I walk around a space to get my bearings, and I don't even flinch if I walk into something while I am learning a new space. I am learning cues like watch, wait, wall, door, and steps. I need a little more practice on leash walking, but I am getting better. One cool thing I do is take a jog with my foster dad. I do have lots of energy, and Mom says I have a youthful exuberance. I ride just fine in a crate, too. As you've read, I am one cool, gentle, and loving boy who is looking for his home. I am so eager to show my new people all the wonderful and loving things about me. Please ask CSAC to meet the sweet and loving guy named Rover. I promise to be the best boy ever and love you just like you will love me. I know someone out there is waiting just for me. Hugs and kisses - Rover

Hi Everyone! My name is Rover, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was found as a stray. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I do have some issues that need an adopters' help. I am blind. I have ear infections and arthritis. I have an irritation on my skin that should be cleared up soon. I need a new family who will dote on me. I need to be kept groomed and clean. I need a proper diet to help my skin and ears, and I need medication for my arthritis. I need a home that I can learn to safely walk around. I need someone to hold and love me in my senior years. Is that you?

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
