11/3/2019 - UPDATE -
Hello everyone. Thank you to everyone who has donated for my care. I have been through hell and I am now walking out on the other side. However, I have battle scars from the fight. My eyes could not be saved so they had to be removed. My ears are getting better, my fur is starting to grow, and I am happy. My tail nub does not stop moving. I am still a little thin but everyone is working on that. When I had my new pictures taken, I just wanted to have my face in the sun. I am ready for a new loving, home where I can be a spoiled, cherished pet. Can you help?

Hi. My name is Paxton, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was taken from my former owner because of abuse and neglect. I lived in a house of horrors. I was one of the survivors. There were 2 other dogs who were found dead. I was severely covered in fleas. I am severely anemic. I am emaciated and have lost muscle mass. I have severe ear infections. My fur is horribly matted. I have issues with my eyes. I have a skin infection, and I am losing patches of fur. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. I am going to need an extensive stay at the vet hospital. They are doing everything they can to make me as healthy as possible. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet.

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
